  • 500 gms minced Chicken/Mutton
  • Onion - 1 finely chopped
  • Green Chillies – 2 finely chopped
  • Chopped Curry leaves
  • Powdered fried gram – 4 tsp
  • Boiled mashed Potatoes – 2
  • Salt to taste
  • Masala Powder
  • Black pepper – 4 tsp
  • Fennel seeds – 2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Cinnamon stick - 1 tsp
  • Cloves -3
  • Coating
  • Egg - 2 large, beated
  • Breadcrumbs- as required (approx 1 and 1/2 cup)


  1. Grind all the ingredients mentioned in Masala powder.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add green chilies, curry leaves and onion
  3. Once the onion is fried add minced meat and the grinded masala powder and allow it cook for 7 minutes. Low down the flame. Add the mashed potatoes to the mixer and stir it for 5 minutes. To make the mixture more solid add required amount of powdered fried gram. Stir for 3 minutes and turn off the flame.
  4. Take a small amount of meat mixture and shape into a ball and then flatten to a pattie shape. Dip in egg and then roll in bread crumbs.
  5. Heat enough oil in a pan, place cutlets in hot oil and fry on both sides till brown in color. Take off the oil and drain on a paper towel.
